Not too far removed from the Black Keys, which ain&#039;t a bad thing at all.
I&#039;m really loving the space the guitar leaves sometimes. The songs breathes.

<title>Re: [Boomer] My PC took the &quot;Big Sleep&quot; today!</title>
<link>http://guitardiner.com/cgi-bin/newforum/gforum.cgi?post=555042;do=post_view;page=unread#555042</link>
<description>PC is back up but not without some warranty strangeness!
If you should ever need a new motherboard, I would recommend NOT buying an MSI board!
Through some system based on your serial number, the base warranty work on the day the board was manufactured rather than where you purchased it. I&#039;ll say it again ... your warranty is based on THE DATE OF MANUFACTURE!
Who ever heard of such a thing?
Based on that, I was in the third year of warranty although I had purchased it about a year and a half ago.
Naturally, in the third year they wanted a hefty repair charge.
This board came from CompUSA, usually not the easiest company to deal with on defectives and warranty work but once they confirmed the odd warranty, they came around, refunded my full original purchase price and I bought a replacement. Unfortunately, the replacements they had available in my price range didn&#039;t have the same video setup without spending twice what I paid for the original card which was running two video cards together in SLI configuration. Awesome setup for games! So, I have one card sitting on my desk as a swell paperweight!
So, over the last month I have learned the a smartphone can replace your desktop but it&#039;s not a great substitute. A tablet would have been great but my bank account says not.
It doesn&#039;t mean much unless you have access to your data, like web URLs, passwords, etc., so I was a bit crippled as my PC didn&#039;t give me a chance to sync the PC to my phone.
So, for almost a month I was detoxing from PC addiction. It was no fun!

For those of you who don&#039;t know, Bob Spickard plays with the Chantays. Back in the day he co-wrote a little ditty called Pipeline. Here&#039;s a video of him playing it in Huntington Beach a couple of years ago with members of the Surfaris and the Del-Tones. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sdilrYmycU

I&#039;m amazed we don&#039;t have more traffic fatalities around here than we do. Speed limits around here seem to be honored more in the breach than in the observance, most of the cars are either sports cars or monster trucks, and the roads appear to have been designed by the Marquis de Sade and a crew of monkeys with paving equipment. (For example, a ~50ft merge lane coming out of a 90-degree turn onto a highway with a 65-mph speed limit...)
